Crack of Dawn

“A gentle intervention of solar energy’s role in plant growth. Photovoltaic solar cells currently operate at an efficiency of twenty-five percent.

By converting solar energy to power grow lights for plants that already reside outside, this project highlights the inefficiency of our current methodologies to harness available energy.”

Outtakes and Process:

Started with a simple thought of playing with the illusion of shadows, we ended up exploring everything else the sun offers us other than just light.

The project lived outside at the Navy Yard in Brooklyn. The result was showed during the ITP Spring show. We are excited to move further with the project (installing in nature, other sizes of solar panels, different plants, and maybe full analog.)
